Fashion designer Donna Karan has agreed to stop using fur in her line. Karan has finally acknowledged the atrocities of the fur industry and announced that all her Fall 2009 lines will be fur-free and that she has "no plans" to use fur in the future.
Thank you to everyone who contributed to the campaign against Donna Karan's use of fur. Whether you were out in the streets, speaking to family and friends, writing letters, or boycotting Donna Karan products, this victory is because of you.
This has shown the industry that they can run but they cannot hide. Take time to feel good about this victory and when you're done, start on the next campaign with me.
"Fashion" designer Armani still refuses to stop using fur. Armani claims that he only uses fur from rabbits who are butchered for meat. Contact Armani to tell him that his competitors (Ralph Lauren, Tommy Hilfiger,Calvin Klein, and Donna Karan) have all agreed to go fur free because of its incredible cruelty.
